AAMFT-Approved Supervision is available.
If you just graduated with your Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or have just started your private practice – Congratulations!
As you navigate the next steps toward licensure or building your practice, now you need to find someone to supervise you. Or perhaps you would like to become an AAMFT-approved supervisor yourself and need a supervision mentor.
As overwhelming as this process may seem, the good news is that you have come to the right place!
Supervision aids professional growth.
Helping clinicians grow in their skills, both personally and professionally, is something that I love and find value in performing.
While the relationship between a therapist and a client is critical, finding a supervisor that is an excellent fit for you is just as important.
A supervisor needs to serve as a role model and mentor who helps you grow while building your self-confidence and self-esteem and developing your skills.
Hello, I’m Michelle VanHatten.
Since March 2019, I have served as an AAMFT clinical supervisor; and since 2017, I have provided individual and group supervision to clients.
My approach to supervision is collaborative, and we use your strengths and goals to tailor our time together to help you grow.
Unfortunately, mediocre clinical supervision exists, but it doesn’t mean you have to settle for something that does not fit your needs. You do have options in terms of the type of supervision. As an AAMFT-approved supervisor, I can offer therapy in person or through telehealth.
The supervision services that I provide include Individual & Group Supervision, Agency Supervision, Supervision of Supervision: Mentor for AAMFT Supervision Candidates.
