Foster Parenting can cause burnout.
Foster children come from hard places and have had sad, bad, and scary things happen to them.
Because of their life experiences, they can exhibit extreme behaviors that make it difficult to handle daily life.
Often, foster parents feel drained of their time, energy, and emotional resources.
Many caregivers come to me sharing that they lack preparation for this, and they do not know what to do! They are feeling hopeless, helpless, and powerless.
Foster Parents, you are not alone in feeling this way.
But there is hope and support out there. Our Support Group helps foster parents prevent burnout.
This group participates in 6 weeks of psychoeducation that provides support for foster parents and relative placement caregivers.
Our group format provides a detailed look at how to support foster children, refuel yourself, and navigate the system’s ups and downs.
When you can understand neuroscience and apply hands-on techniques, you will notice that kids can make tremendous strides.
In this group, I provide a multilayered, hands-on approach to foster parenting to help you handle behaviors while building a community of support.

Adoptive Parents face challenges as well.
It is hard not to struggle with the reality that adoption has a lifelong impact.
Even after the papers are signed, it is not uncommon to see unexpected challenges – especially as children enter adolescence and young adulthood.
Many adoptive parents feel heartbroken, confused, and unsure of what to do.
Adoptive Parents, you are not alone.
Nurturing Connections’ support for Adoptive Parents is a 12-week course in psychoeducation designed to support adoptive parents.
This group provides a look at how to support adoptees while managing your emotional reactions and questions.
In this group, I provide a multilayered approach to adoptive parenting and help parents have the resources necessary for helping kids who have experienced sad, bad, and scary things.
Through a whole-child approach that focuses on the mind and body, your family will have the ability to blossom and empower other adoptive families to find hope and a community of support.
Within the community, you gain power and confidence.
Learning from other adoptive parents, while following our approach, helps address challenges that parents of an adoptive child face.
